Sunrise 2010 by Joseph S. Mars
A New Day
I got up this morning,
To wonder in the meadow.
The cool dawn breeze,
Gently caressed my face.
I watched the orange sun,
Peek over the horizon.
The dew on the ground,
Twinkled like tiny crystals.
I know in my heart,
It is the start of a great day.
I picked a yellow flower,
To remember.

Do not say, ‘It is morning,’ and dismiss it with a name of yesterday. See it for the first time as a newborn child that has no name.
