Sometimes
Sometimes I wish,
The moon still had its mystery.
And the stars,
Were just lovely twinkling lights.
Not knowing that the moon is just a rock.
That the stars,
A mass of gas in space.
Then I could sit and dream,
As I look at the night sky;
Just let my imagination soar.
It is then I could,
Go sailing into the universe.
Fly over the silvery moon,
With all its wonder and secrecy.
Maybe I could,
Hitch a ride on a comet;
And soar among the twinkling stars.
Visit all the parts unknown,
Then return to earth in seventy years.
